Bayern Munich are preparing a new offer to acquire 22-year-old left winger Nico Williams from Athletic Bilbao, according to Marca, citing German sources.
The report states that Bayern's sporting director, Max Eberl, has returned from the United States, where the club is participating in the Club World Cup, to meet with the board of directors. The purpose is to accelerate preparations for the next season, with Williams' signing being one of the top priorities.
Currently, Barcelona are considered the favorite to land the player; however, the Catalans are not yet ready to pay the release clause of €58 million upfront. The club does not rule out that Williams may ultimately choose to join Bayern.
Since 2021, Nico Williams has been playing for Athletic. In the 2024/25 season, he appeared in 45 matches, scoring 11 goals and providing seven assists. His current contract with the club runs until the summer of 2027.
